My name is Murphy Byrne and I’m a Documentary Photographer & Visual Storyteller from Minnesota.

I want to tell stories that matter, and tell them well.

During my time at Vanderbilt University I was heavily involved with Student Media. There, my passion for photojournalism, technology, and storytelling grew. Upon graduating in 2013 with degrees in both Anthropology & Sociology, I moved to Guatemala where I lived and worked for more than a year.   Working with non-profits and freelance clients allowed me to put my degrees to use while building a diverse international portfolio.  This time abroad affirmed why I studied what I did and why I’m passionate about what I do.
